In its fourth year, the Prince Invitational wrapped up this weekend with Jared Sawada capturing the championship title at The Prince Course at Princeville.
Sawada now has two of the tournament titles, first as an amateur in 2012, and now as a professional. Posting a two-day total of 142, Sawada’s 2-under par finish allowed him to slide past Alex Chiarella by one stroke for the win. Professional Jake Grodzinsky would finish third at 145 with past champion TJ Kua two shots back at 147 to round out the top finishers of the Men’s Open.
In the overall Championship flight, Chiarella’s score of 143 would give him a five-shot swing over Dalen Yamauchi who finished at 148. Alika Bell and James Horton would finish tied for third at 150.
In A-Flight, Steve Mickle won the division with a two-day, 85, 80, for 165 and Andy Lozano finished second at 81, 88, for 169. Dayron Vargas had tight competition going in B-Flight with David Gerow but would end up winning to beat Gerow by a one stroke to finish at 179.
On behalf of the tournament committee, the event organizers thanked their sponsors for supporting the tournament.
