KALAHEO – The Department of Water will remove the electronic “Kalaheo Water Conservation” message boards on Kaumualii Highway today, and replace them with reflective banner signs. These signs will serve as an ongoing reminder to Kalaheo residents to continue water conservation until further notice.
The DOW and its contractors are on schedule to repair Kalaheo’s deep wells, and anticipate completing the full restoration of Well 2 by the end of next week.
The DOW is currently servicing its Kalaheo customers through a temporary low-capacity submersible pump installed in Well 1, a temporary pipeline, and a booster pump. All of these temporary installations are currently providing supplemental water service to the area.
However, to ensure that the temporary installations are able to provide water to all Kalaheo residents, it is still necessary to continue water conservation measures until full repairs and reinstallations are completed.
