Based on the universality of religions, Dances of Universal Peace are circle dances accompanied by live music and song that use easily learned movements.
Dancers sing phrases from several cultural, spiritual and religious traditions (including Hawaiian). The three-day retreat entitled “Sanctuary in the Heart” will include Dances of Universal Peace, Zikr (the practice of remembrance), as well as other teachings and practices geared to bring forth the heart’s radiance, nourish the soul and create a feeling of oneness. Leilah and Bodhi Be live and teach on Maui and have been leading retreats throughout the world for over 25 years.
“Leilah’s leadership, music and harmonious voice orchestrate the dances to create a sacred and joyous atmosphere,” a release said.
The founder, Bodhi, working together with Leilah and Ram Dass, directs Doorway Into Light, a Maui nonprofit that focuses on the preparation for and recognition of death as a sacred and spiritual passage.
