LIHUE — The Department of Land and Natural Resources announced that is has closed the Kalalau Trail as of 12:40 p.m. today due to a storm producing heavy rain and flood conditions on Kauai.
As of 12:30 p.m. the DLNR reports that roads are nearly impassable accessing the trailhead. As the storm is expected to subside later today, park status updates will be posted at www.hawaiistateparks.org under “announcements.”
