Seldom does a well-known international favorite in the Christian music scene visit Kauai to share their talent with our small island music market.
Thanks to the drug and alcohol addiction ministry of Uturn For Christ, and Calvary Chapel Lihue, this becomes a reality on Tuesday, Feb. 11, at the Kauai War Memorial Convention Hall. Doors open at 6 p.m.
The Katinas are a group of five brothers born in American Samoa who began singing together when they were children, and started performing at churches and fairs. As they grew, they concentrated on creating their musical message of love, faith and family, writing many songs inspired by and dedicated to their mother who died shortly after the Katina family moved to Washington state in 1988.
The family moved to Nashville following the tragic event, and by 1995 they performed nationwide with famous gospel artists and appeared on nationally televised events.
The Katinas have also become a favorite with concert audiences across the country, averaging nearly 200 performances annually.
Their Kauai concert will feature their latest album, “Love Chapter.”
Tickets are $15, and can be purchased at Kauai Music & Sound, Scotty’s Music, Na Pali Coast Hanalei, and Lifeway Pharmacies.
