HANAPEPE — Kapaa High School won four games in the series against Waimea, which wrapped up Thursday night at the Hanapepe Stadium.

The series started Wednesday when the Kapaa varsity boys claimed a 2-0 win over the Menehune, and the Kapaa varsity girls edged Waimea, 2-1 in the nightcap.

Thursday, the Kapaa junior varsity boys finished with a 2-0 win over the JV Menehune in a game shortened by about five minutes by game officials due to “fans in the stadium misbehaving.”

Kapaa wrapped up the  series when the JV girls blanked the Waimea JV girls, 10-0.

With the win, Kapaa varsity boys next face Kauai at 3:30 p.m. Saturday.

Coming from a 0-0 halftime deadlock, the Kapaa varsity boys found the net with goals by Daniel Alonzo and Keaton Schneider in the second half for its 2-0 final Wednesday afternoon.
