Merriman’s anniversary helps Kauai

POIPU — Merriman’s Kauai celebrated its fourth anniversary with an evening under the stars at the Palm Court at The Shops of Kukuiula.

The evening also served as a fundraiser for both the Kauai United Way and Hale Opio, with 100 percent of the proceeds split between the two agencies.

Kristina Kegley Colburn, general manager for Merriman’s Kauai, said ticket sales for the evening under the stars generated $3,315, a silent auction raised $610, and the donation of 20 percent of sales raised $1,240, for a grand total of $5,165.

This was halved with the Kauai United Way receiving $2,582.50 and Hale Opio, one of the 30 Kauai United Way Participating Agencies, receiving $2,582.50.
