Look no further than the Hukilau Lanai.
Happy hour at the poolside bar is from 3 to 5 p.m. From 11 a.m. to sunset the poolside bar serves salads, wraps and daily specials. The restaurant bar opens at 4:30 p.m.
During my visit, I experimented with the Lilikoi Blossom Martini special with Passion Fruit Sky Vodka, pomegranate liqueur and Lilikoi syrup for $9. This drink is beautifully decorated with an orchid and is very strong and tasty. The mint and ginger beverage with house mint lime syrup, ginger ale and a candy ginger garnish for $4. This refreshment was thirst quenching and delicious.You can also order a specially made Bloody Mary for $8.50 with lime flavored vodka, a pickle garnish and rimed with an unusual salt and spices mixture.
The Hukilau also has an extensive wine menu, which includes a list of 20 wines for $20 or more.
“We offer 10 reds and 10 whites. You are sure to get great wine for a great price,” Hukilau Lanai manager Chantry Williams said.
Every day from 6 to 9 p.m. the restaurant hosts live music from local performers with styles such as jazz, contemporary Hawaiian, reggae, classic old Hawaiian and familiar favorites.
