Happy Camper for Monday, Nov. 4, 2013

In one week, on the 11th hour, the Kauai Veterans Council will host the annual Veterans Day service at the Hanapepe Veterans Cemetery.

Moani Genegabuas, the new Miss Kauai Veteran, will be there to assist in the protocol. Moani made her debut during the Veterans Day parade Saturday in Kapaa.

Kudos to Aida Cruz and all the hard working Veterans Day crew (Norvin Olivas had several modes of transportation to cope with the different situations). Joe Olivas took the day off from fishing to be part of the celebration, and kudos to Ron Wiley who anchored the Eastside audio station.

Richard “Soup Bone” and Jane Kashiwabara brought the excitement of the RSVP posts to Kapaa town, and even Janice Bond was distributing fans for AARP.

Hats off to Joanne Parongao who got the Hawaii All-State Rose Bowl Band to offer a preview of the Rose Bowl Parade and still make it to meet Scott and Cynthia Jenkins, president of the Rose Bowl parade!
