Happy Camper for Wednesday, Oct. 9, 2013

Congratulations to Lynn Muramoto and all the Lawai International Center on a great blessing of the Hall of Compassion! What a long way the center has come.

Happy birthday to Miyoshi Fujimoto (nope, she’s not winning $2 million because she’s the mom of The Happy Camper!) who celebrates 92 years of life!

Aletha Thomas of Monkeypod Jam is looking for vote supporters after advancing past the first round of Intuit’s Small Business Grant. People can vote once a day until Oct. 23. Visit her at the Kauai Culinary Market at The Shops at Kukuiula for the website to vote, or just get a sample (what’s in season, now?).

Sharon Lasker said Thursday is National Angel Food Cake Day and anyone stopping by the Regency at Puakea (across from Chiefess Kamakahelei Middle School) can enjoy a free slice of homemade cake with some lemonade.

Also, check out Jared Chytka and his Kmart people during the free safety day event Saturday from 9 a.m. (getting ono for some malasadas).

• Dennis Fujimoto, staff writer and photographer, can be reached at 245-0453 or dfujimoto@ thegardenisland.com.
