Emma Oda
Emma Oda of Puhi passed away on Sept. 2, 2013 at Kauai Veterans Memorial Hospital at the age of 81. Born on March 1, 1932 in Koolau Hawaii, she was a Sales Clerk with Top to Toe Gift Shop.
She is survived by her daughters, Charleen (Edwin) Tam Ho of Kahului, Maui and Sherri Yasutake of Lihue, Kauai; brother, Charles Melandish of Kealia, Kauai; sisters, Florence Albao of California and Salome Wong of Waipouli, Kauai; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Friends may visit with the family on Thursday, Sept. 19 at the Garden Island Mortuary Chapel in Lawai at 9 a.m. Service starts at 10 a.m. Burial will follow at the Kauai Veterans Cemetery. Casual attire is suggested.

Stacey Lynn Ventura Girvin of Poipu, Kauai, Hawaii passed away on Sept. 1, 2013 at Wicox Memorial Hospital at the age of 45. She was born on August 2, 1968 in San Jose, California. She was a sales associate at Sweet Bikinis, Poipu.
She is survived by father, Charles “Charlie” (Gail Szczepanski) Ventura, Poipu; mother, Michelle Ventura, California; son, Tyler Girvin, California; daughter, Kylie Girvin, California; brother, Richard (Celesia) Ventura, California; numerous aunties and uncles and nieces and nephews and cousins and friends.

Abdel Latif
Abdel “Jimmy” Latif of Kapahi passed away at home on Aug. 6, 2013, at the age of 85. He was born in Egypt on Feb. 8, 1928 and retired as a photo journalist.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Son, Omar Latif and seven siblings.
He is survived by his wife, Solange “Sonia” Levy Latif; three children, Magda (Michael); Mona (Mark) and Magdi “Mike” (Sheree); 11 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.
Family and friends will be having a memorial to celebrate his life on Sunday, Sept. 22.

Grace Pagaduan
Grace Gaudiosa Pagaduan of Kekaha passed away on Sept. 1, 2013 at Kauai Veterans Memorial Hospital at the age of 91. Born on Oct. 28, 1921 in Pangasinan Philippines, she was a Teacher in Isabella Philippines and various schools on Kauai.
She is survived by her husband, Eduardo C. Pagaduan; son, Edward M. Pagaduan of Kekaha Kauai; daughter, Blossom (Pedro Jr.) Eugenio of Torrance California; brother, Felipe Sanchez of Lihue Kauai; sisters, Barbara (Sesinando) Esteves of Honolulu Hawaii, and Maria Guinto of Palawan Philippines; and two grandchildren, Matthew Eugenio and Aaron Eugenio.
Friends may visit with the family on Saturday, Sept. 14 at St. Theresa Catholic Church at 8 a.m. Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. and burial to follow at Kekaha Public Cemetery. Casual attire is suggested.

Hisayo Kawado passed away on Aug. 22, 2013 in Honolulu at the age of 91. She was born in Hanapepe, Kauai.
She is survived by son, Kerry (Irene) Kawado; daughter, Amy (Patrick) Watase; sister, Clara Ueno; four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Richard Ishida
Richard H. Ishida of Lihue Hawaii formerly of Kaneohe, Oahu passed away on Sept. 4, 2013 at his residence at the age of 92. He was born on March 14, 1921 in Oahu. He was a owner of Aloha Factors and in the U.S. Army.
He was preceded in death by father, Kisaburo Ishida; mother, Sui Enomoto; wife, Emmie K. Ishida; brother, Robert Kiichi Ishida.
He is survived by sons, Brian (Tina) Ishida, Walnut Creek, California; Eric (Helga) Ishida, Kalaheo; 4 grandchildren; sisters, Alice of Haiku Village, HI, Mildred of Kaneohe, HI; Nancy of Torrance, CA, Jean of Westminster, CA; numerous nieces and nephews and cousins and friends.

Franklin Ventura of Kalaheo, Kauai, Hawaii passed away on Sept. 5, 2013 at the age of 78 at Wilcox Memorial Hospital. He was born on July 19, 1935 in Waimea, Kauai, Hawaii. He was a contractor.
He was preceded in death by wife, Patricia Ventura.
He is survived by sons, Franklin (Suzanne) Ventura Jr., Canada; Rodney (Madeline) Ventura, Kalaheo; Walter (Martha) Ventura, Georgia; and Matthew (Janice) Ventura, Kalaheo; numerous nieces and nephews; seven grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.

Alia Hallowell (Jane Elliott Hallowell) was born January 23, 1942 in Portland, Maine passed into the Light Sept. 6, 2013 in Kapaa (Kauai), Hawaii. She was a private practice with Amazon Herbs and Aromatherapy and was a Health Practitioner.
She is survived by her daughter, Rebecca O’Donnell and her granddaughter, Cadance O’Donnell of New Hampshire.
A Celebration of Life is Friday, Sept. 13 at 5 p.m. at Riversong Sanctuary in Kapaa.

Gregorio L. Daligcon of Eleele, Kauai passed away on Aug. 7, 2013 at his home in Eleele at the age of 87. He was born on May 10, 1926 in the Village Makaweli Town. He was a Retired Irrigator for Gay and Robinson.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Dionicio and Maria Daligcon; two sisters, Florentina Manuel and Saturnina Andres; two brothers, Isidro Daligcon and Luciano Daligcon.
He is survived by his wife, Victoria Manuel Daligcon; one daughter, Gloria (Fernando) Mariano; 5 sons, Eduardo (Venus) Daligcon; Adriano (Norma) Daligcon; Antonio (Reynalda) Daligcon; Danilo (Kelly) Daligcon; Guillermo (Donna) Daligcon; one sister, Rosita Yadao; one brother, Mariano Daligcon; 16 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
