LIHUE — The Kauai Athletic Club earned the No. 4 seed in the men’s 18 and over league in its 70-53 win over Tropang-L Friday night in Kilauea.
With games taking place in both the men’s and women’s divisions, the men took the floor at the Kilauea Neighborhood Center where Spam Lindsey led the Kauai Athletic Club with 22 points to clinch the No. 4 seed for the playoffs.
Dan Erickson helped the win with 19 points and Nate Smith added 13 points for KAC.
Jay-R Punzalan topped the night with 24 points for Tropang-L, getting help from James Badua, who finished with 15 points.
Earlier, Brison Nacapuy finished with a game-high 19 points to lead Hanakila to a 51-50 edge over the Nobodies, and Marlon Cudiamat helping the Hanakila win on 17 points.
Matt Palaroan topped the Nobodies’ scoring with 15 points followed by Travis Gothier ending with 14 points.
With the completion of the regular season, the Kings (8-0) will meet KAC (3-5) in the playoffs Friday starting at 7 p.m.
The No. 2 seed Wreckage (6-2) will go up against the No. 3 seed Westside Pride (5-3) in the 6 p.m. tipoff at the Kalaheo Neighborhood Center.
While the men grappled for the No. 4 seed in Kilauea, the women 18 and over took the floor at the Kalaheo Neighborhood Center where Jessi Aki finished with a game-high 28 points to lead the Kauai Ballers to a 58-46 win over Team 808, which got 15 points from Kristle Henry.
Kayla Perez helped Team 808 with 12 points while Bristy Agu added 10 points to the Kauai Ballers’ win, and Lauren Claypoole finished with eight points.
Casey Anacleto took the lead for #Ballout with 17 points in its 48-29 win over the Meatballs, which got 10 points from Liona Hasegawa.
Virginia Aguilar helped the Meatballs’ effort with eight points.
Natalie Mata ended the night with 13 points followed by Rachael Taira adding nine points in the #Ballout’s victory.
The girls next take the floor today at the Kalaheo Neighborhood Center with the Meatballs meeting the Kauai Ballers in the 6 p.m. tipoff followed by #Ballout meeting Team 808 at 7 p.m.
