LIHU‘E — The Kapa’a Middle School Choir and ‘Ukulele Band, directed by Mary Lardizabal, brought home a Double Gold this year from the Heritage Music Festival in Anaheim, Calif. Both performances for the group received high scores from the judges.
LIHU‘E — The Kapa’a Middle School Choir and ‘Ukulele Band, directed by Mary Lardizabal, brought home a Double Gold this year from the Heritage Music Festival in Anaheim, Calif.
Both performances for the group received high scores from the judges. Tia Lardizabal received the Maestro Award for her hula solo dancing to “What a Wonderful World.”
“We are truly grateful to all who helped to make this opportunity for our students possible,” according to Lardizabal.
“For our endless performances and fundraising efforts, the generosity from our communiy — our hearts are overwhelmed and so thankful!”
This is Kapa’a Middle School’s 13th year of participation in the Heritage Music Festival, and Lardizabal hopes to continue providing this opportunity for her students.
