LIHU‘E — The Kaua‘i Chorale is in the midst of its 50th anniversary and the year-long celebration continues this weekend with a pair of spring concerts.
“We have a variety of music and we’ll be singing some of the favorites,” said Wesley Cronk, president of the group.
The concerts, titled “Thanks for the Memories,” will begin at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, May 11 at the Kaua‘i Community College Performing Arts Center in Puhi and 5 p.m. Sunday, May 12 at The St. Regis Princeville Resort.
Cronk, who also sings with the group, said the audience can expect a memorable performance, with a cross of music from old to new.
“It will be full of life,” he said.
The Kaua‘i Chorale has been celebrating the anniversary with events, appearances and surprises popping up all over the island, according to a release for the upcoming performances.
The concerts this weekend will feature more than 60 local singers ranging in age from 15 to 90, all dressed in black and gold for the occasion, according to Cronk.
Tickets cost $10 in advance, $12 at the door. Students get in for $5.
To purchase tickets in advance visit Lappert’s (Princeville and Koloa), North Shore Pharmacy (Kilauea), Kaua‘i Music and Sound (Kapa‘a), Pono Market (Kapa‘a), Zack’s Famous Frozen Yogurt (Kapa‘a), Pictures Plus (Lihu‘e), Kalaheo Coffee Co., Scotty’s Music (Kalaheo), Talk Story Bookstore (Hanapepe) and Wrangler’s Steakhouse (Waimea).
