The Garden Isle may be 7,000 thousand miles away from the Emerald Isle, but there are plenty of activities to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day. Whether you are Irish or not (but isn’t everyone just a little bit Irish?), here are some of the best events happening around the island:
Tree’s Lounge
The Eastside’s live music venue hosts a St. Patty’s Day Party with local rockers Battery Alley. The festivities start at 2 p.m. 440 Aleka Place #1, Kapa‘a. 523-0600.
Rob’s Goodtimes Grill
Lihu‘e’s favorite bar continues its annual party with live music, Irish foods and drink specials. The festivities last from 11 a.m. Sunday until 2 a.m. Monday.
The menu will include corned beef and cabbage, plus specials on all Guinness, Irish Car Bombs and green Coors Light.
KONG Radio hosts a Keiki Kong Land Tent, featuring face painting, tattoos and games for the children between 1 and 3 p.m.
Live music begins at 3 p.m., with the Quake, Solidarity and Ooklah the Moc headlining at 7 p.m. As night falls, DJ Jason, DJ Jus Jay and J-SMOOTH will spin for the after party from 10 p.m. to 2 a.m.

Tahiti Nui
If you find yourself on Kaua‘i’s lush North Shore for St. Patrick’s Day, stop in at Tahiti Nui where Matt Bolton will perform from 4 to 7:30 p.m. The bar promises Irish music all day. 5-5134 Kuhio Highway, Hanalei. 826-6277.
The Feral Pig

Joe’s on the Green
Celebrate this green holiday by teeing off on the green, followed by an Irish mug. Joe’s is located at Kiahuna Golf Course Club House, 2545 Kiahuna Plantation Drive. 742-9696.
