LIHU‘E — Electrical power to customers in the Nawiliwili and Niumalu areas will be turned off from 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday, according to a Kaua‘i Island Utility Cooperative spokeswoman.

The outage will affect homes and businesses on Wa‘apa Road, Niumalu Road and Hulemalu Road.

KIUC will shut off power to the overhead power lines to accommodate Gay & Robinson’s work to remove the old bulk sugar conveyor system crossing Wa‘apa Road near Pier 2.
