Tepairu Manea is thrilled to learn the Blue Man Group out of Las Vegas uses some of his percussion instruments. Tepairu was at the Coconut Festival working on a milo wood piece while Robin Clark of the Woodturners Club was using a lathe to cut down a large piece of milo.
This was the first time the Woodturners were making an appearance at the Coconut Festival following a successful showing at the recent Kaua‘i County Farm Bureau Fair.
Harvey Maeda of the Kaua‘i Classic Cars was chatting with Vince and Linda Yamasaki of the San Diego Car Club, who was checking out some of the cars on display. Harvey said due to the shearwater fledging season, the popular Coconut MarketPlace monthly shows is put on hold until after the holidays.
Hats off to Tricia Yamashita on pulling together another successful event! Neill Sams of Orchid Alley was escorting some of the marketing people from the Philadelphia Flower Show who will be meeting with George Costa and Mayor Bernard Carvalho Jr. about the possibility of being part of the East Coast floral extravaganza.
