Horace Stoessel
Horace Edward Stoessel of Kapaa passed away at home on September 16, 2012 at the age of 82. He was born in Mississippi on February 4, 1930, and was a Professor with King College in Bristol Tennessee.
He was preceded in death by his son, Edward Lee Stoessel; parents, George Edward and Leona Ladnier Stoessel; and brother, Joseph Stoessel.
He is survived by his wife, Phyllis Stoessel of Kapaa; two daughters, Deborah Walker of North Carolina and Elizabeth Lee; two sisters, Evelyn (James) Lassabe of Mississippi and Edwina Hare of North Carolina; 3 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A celebration of his life will be held privately.
Kauai Memorial Gardens & Funeral Home assisted the Stoessel family with arrangements.
Kameichi Shimizu
Kameichi Shimizu of Kapaa passed away at Straub Medical Clinic & Hospital on September 8, 2012, at the age of 85. Born in Eleele, Kauai on September 19, 1926, he was a retired Auto Mechanic.
He is survived by his wife, Helen Shimizu of Kapaa; two sons, Wayne Shimizu of Wailua and Clyde (Lorena) Shimizu of Oahu; brother, Kazuki “Arrol” (Fuyuko) Shimizu of Eleele; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Private graveside services were held at Kauai Memorial Gardens.
Kauai Memorial Gardens & Funeral Home assisted the Shimizu family with arrangements.
Ysidra Dace
Ysidra “Sidra” Racca Dace of Aiea, Hawaii formerly of Puhi, Kauai passed away on September 03, 2012 at home in Aiea at the age of 97. Born on May 12, 1915 in Santa Maria, Ilocos Sur, Philippines, she was a retired housekeeper at Wilcox Memorial Hospital.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Hermogenes & Raimunda Racca; husband, Macario Dace; sisters, Urbana Ducay & Lucina Racca; brothers, Quiterio, Sabas, Inocencio, & Federico Racca.
She is survived by her sons, Demetrio (Trinidad) Dace of Kauai, Taurino (Gwen) Dace of Washington, Alejandro (Lydia) Dace of California; daughter, Juanita Realista of Oahu; brother, Juan Racca, Philippines; 17 grandchildren, Marylou (Joe) Dumlao, Maribelle (Jessie) Semana, Marlyn Dace, Dial (Billy Celino) Dace, Rolando Dace, Tracy (Christopher) Jambaro, Gail Meggison, Ricky (Jennifer Yeoman) Realista, Armando (Vivian) Realista Sr, Christina (Sean Kim Han Jr) Realista, Susan (Bob) Lau-Roberts, Darryl (Scott) Stewart, Durand Dace, Trina (George) Matsumoto, Corrina Somera, Dina (Romeo) Cabato, Andrea (Michael) Bejo, Alicia Dace; 18 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces & nephews.
Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, September 22, 2012, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Kapaia. Visitation will be at 8:30 a.m., mass to be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Burial to follow at Immaculate Conception Cemetery.

Janet Ruiz
Janet Yasue Ruiz of Koloa, Kauai, Hawaii passed away on September 10, 2012 at her residence in Koloa at the age of 90. Born on November 27, 1921 in Koloa, Kauai, she was a retired store clerk with Kukuiula Store.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Kakuichi & Asao Fukumoto; husband, Alexander Ruiz; and daughter, Loretta Yoshioka.
She is survived by her son, Roland (Mokihana) Ruiz, Koloa; sisters, Myra Muramoto, Gladys (Frank) Yoshii, Helen Hirano, Namoi Masaki; brothers, Randy (Chico) Fukumoto, Ted (Alice) Fukumoto, Gary (Betty) Fukumoto, Gaylord (Susan) Fukumoto; 4 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren
A celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, September 29, 2012 at Kauai Veterans Cemetery, Hanapepe. Visitation will begin at 10:00 am with service at 11:00 am with burial to follow.

Dionicio “Dinny” C. Luis of Kalaheo, Kauai, died on September 1, 2012 at KVMH at the age of 81. He was born on December 10, 1930 in Makaweli, Kauai. He was a Retired Drywall Hanger.
He was preceded in death by his parents Maximiano and Francisca Luis; son, Warren Michael Luis; and daughter, Dinnie Marie Luis.
He is survived by his wife, Dolores D. Luis of Kalaheo; daughters, Corina (Vincent) Nihipali of Makakilo, and Roxanne (David) Laguatan of Kalaheo; sisters, Connie Bobiles of Honolulu, and Helen Ugale of Ka’aawa; daughter-in-law, Cecile Luis; eighteen grandchildren; and forty-two great-grandchildren.
Memorial service will be held on Sunday, September 23, 2012 at the Garden Island Mortuary Chapel in Lawai. Visitation will be from 9:00 am to 10:30 am. Service to begin at 10:30 am.
