Esmenia Lucia Belmonte of Kilauea, Kaua‘i, passed away on June 23, 2012, at Wilcox Memorial Hospital at the age of 81. She was born on March 21, 1931, in Kilauea. She was a retired supervisor at The Cliffs at Princeville.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Timoteo and Eutropia Yadao; son, Patrick Belmonte; sister, Mary Cabacungan; and brothers, “Nado” Yadao and “Mondo” Yadao.
She is survived by her husband, Isidro Belmonte Sr. of Kilauea; sons, Isidro Belmonte Jr. of Kilauea, Andrew Belmonte of California and Eric (Crystal) Belmonte of Kilauea; daughter, Brandie (Ross) Pimental of Kapa‘a; eight grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; brothers, Jose (Jean) Yadao of Kapa‘a and Joseph (Theresa) Yadao of Kilauea; sisters, Josephine (Chris) Asuncion of Kilauea, Christina Constantino of Kilauea and Frances (Modesto) Bilog of California; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Friends may visit with the family on July 6 at St. Sylvester’s Catholic Church in Kilauea. Visitation will be at 8:30 a.m. Mass to be celebrated at 10 a.m.
Burial to follow at Kilauea Japanese Cemetery. Casual attire is suggested.
