HONOLULU — Verizon Wireless has launched the nation’s largest 4G Long Term Evolution network on the island of Kaua‘i.
With the Verizon Wireless 4G LTE network, Kaua‘i customers can use their 4G LTE wireless devices at speeds of up to 10 times faster than before.
Customers in Lihu‘e, Puhi, Nawiliwili, Wailua Homesteads and Kapa‘a now have access to the network.
“The Verizon Wireless 4G LTE network brings customers a blazingly fast wireless data service that covers more than two-thirds of the nation,” said Russ Preite, region president for Verizon Wireless.
“With the 4G LTE network, customers can leverage the speed and connectivity through a variety of 4G LTE devices to connect with family, friends and colleagues, and push the boundaries of communication.”
The 4G LTE will allows devices ranging from tablets, mobile hotspots, smartphones and applications with better speed for the Web, music or streaming live video.
Customers should experience average data rates of 5 to 12 megabits per second (Mbps) on the downlink and 2 to 5 Mbps on the uplink.
