Happy Camper for June 20, 2012

Hats off to all the organizers for the King Kamehameha Day parade Saturday! This was a special event since Annette Hashimoto came out with all her sewn items and even brought one of her daughters down despite the girl working double shifts at Ruby Tuesday.

Kathy Ladera and Christine Mirvel, former TGI employees were also doing one of the craft tables and Maka Herrod and George Thronas did a great job behind the microphone.

Hopefully, everyone caught their breath because it’s going to be another busy weekend starting with Clarence Sales and the Merv Lopes Kaua‘i Hoops Classic, Thursday and running until Sunday.

Gerald Hirata said this weekend is the Hanapepe Soto Zen Temple bon dance with eisa, or Okinawa song and dance, at the intermissions.

It’s also the Mayor-a-thon, Saturday morning with Bev Brody, Tommy Noyes, Dr. Randy Blake and maybe even Jenn Linton.

After a nice breakfast from Sweet Marie’s, Sheri Saari said Surfrider Foundation is having a beach cleanup in Kealia.

Wow! That’s a lot of stuff.
