Congratulations to Dennis Esaki, Wanda Shibata and Carrice Caspillo!

Esaki celebrated Dennis Esaki Day, May 31, when Lenny Rapozo, representing Mayor Bernard Carvalho Jr. delivered the proclamation during the Kaua‘i Chamber of Commerce Annual Governor’s Luncheon at the Kaua‘i Marriott Resort and Beach Club. Gov. Neil Abercrombie followed Lenny, delivering a state proclamation without all the “whereas’s.”

Randall Francisco, president of the Kaua‘i Chamber of Commerce, said Dennis Esaki, the governor’s interim liason for more than two years, will be replaced by Wanda. Carrice Caspillo, a graduate of Kapa‘a High School, will be the constituent services representative, both positions effective immediately.

Hats off to Carol Texeira (where is that Facebook?) and Chantal Zarbaugh on a great job selling out the luncheon. And Jason Fujinaka and Valerie Rynda were still at the YWCA luncheon.

Kudos, too, to Susan Tai Kaneko, Melissa McFerrin and all involved in the Kaua‘i Coffee Agriculture Business Plan Competition which wrapped up a busy Thursday.
