Santiago Cadaoas

Santiago Quiamas Cadaoas of ‘Oma‘o died at home on May 7, 2012, at the age of 84. He was born in ‘Ele‘ele, Kaua‘i on Oct. 2, 1927, and retired from the County of Kaua‘i as a mechanic.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Paula; son, Steven; daughter, Norma; parents, Pastor Cadaoas and Juana Quiamas and sister, Rosalia Pagtulingan.

He is survived by his three daughters, Della (Charlie) Silva of Koloa, Kathleen Cabral of Lawai, Valerie (Calvin) Lagazo of Waimea; brother, Dennis (Pilar) Mabini; sisters, Evelyn (Ernest) Johnston of Lihu‘e, Florencia Pascua of the Philippines; 8 grandchildren, Shawn (Dawn) Silva of ‘Oma‘o, Sheldon (Stacie) Silva of Utah, Tiffany Cabral of Las Vegas, Nicole (Don) Okami of Las Vegas, Kanoe (Troy) Hayden of Wailua, Amber Cabral of Lihu‘e, Ashley Lagazo of Arizona, Vakeesha Lagazo of Waimea; 12 great-grandchildren, Shaylyn and Hailey Silva of ‘Oma‘o, Colby, Braxton and Jayden Silva of Utah, Tynoa Shigemoto of Las Vegas, Zayden and Mason Okami of Las Vegas, Ethan and Sierra Hayden of Wailua, Makoa Vanaman of Lihu‘e, Mikaela Ginevra of Arizona; numerous nieces and nephews.

A celebration of his life will be held on Saturday, May 26, 2012, at Holy Cross Church with viewing from 8:30 a.m. to 10 a.m. and Mass celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Burial will follow at Kaua‘i Memorial Gardens.

Kaua‘i Memorial Gardens & Funeral Home assisted the Cadaoas family with arrangements.
