LIHU‘E — The unidentified body recovered from a pool of water off Queen’s Bath Trail in Princeville Sunday will undergo an autopsy today, according to county officials.
A police spokesperson said Monday that drowning had not been ruled out.
“Police have not yet speculated on the cause of death,” county spokeswoman Sarah Blane said. “The results of the autopsy will help to make that determination, and further details will be released at that time.”
The autopsy will also assist in identifying the body.
A bystander discovered the body and notified Police Dispatch shortly before noon Sunday.
Firefighters were first on scene, and police airlifted the body from the area via county helicopter Air 1.
