Peggy-Lou Kuuleialoha Napohaku of Hanapepe died on Dec. 28, 2011, at Wilcox Hospital at the age of 49. Born on Oct. 16, 1962, in Lihu‘e, Kaua‘i, she was a waitress with Green Garden Restaurant.
She is survived by her son, Brandon Napohaku of Hanapepe; brothers, Robert and Francis Napohaku both of Hanapepe, and sister, Kimberly Napohaku of Hanapepe.
Friends may visit with the family on Saturday, Jan. 21, from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Service to begin at 11 a.m. at the Hanapepe Hawaiian Congregational Church. Casual attire is suggested.

Apolonia Fabro
Apolonia A. Fabro of Waimea, Kaua‘i, passed away on Jan. 13, 2012, at Kaua‘i Care Center at the age of 89. She was born on March 22, 1922, in the Philippines. She was a homemaker.
She is survived by her son, Benjamin Fabro; three brothers, Antonio Aguinaldo; Melchor Aguinaldo and Hermie Aguinaldo; three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Friends may visit with the family on Saturday, Jan. 28, at St. Theresa’s Church in Kekaha from 8 a.m. to 9:45 a.m., where mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Cremation to follow.

Joan Mitsue Deguchi of Lihu‘e passed away on Dec. 17, 2011, at her home in Lihu‘e at the age of 70. She was born on Sept. 21, 1941, in Honolulu. She was a supervisor for Lihu‘e Bowling Center.
She is survived by three daughters, Cherie (Toppy) Miyashiro; Michelle Deguchi and Renee Mahuka; two sons, Todd (April) Deguchi and Roby Deguchi; 17 grandchildren, Haunani and Kaimi Miyashiro; Joseph and Chantel Mahuka; Jeremy, Jordan and Shae Rocha; Shawna, Todd Jr., and Sierra Deguchi; Pono, Benjamin and Ruston Swain; Isaiah Deguchi, Roby Tanaka; Maile Deguchi and Mitsy Hayashi; great-grandchildren, Kaelyn Mahuka, J.J. Deguchi, Akoni Villatora; Kaiea Lum; Makoa Lemke-Hayashi and Ayden Siharath; mother, Sumano Kunihiro; two sisters, Alice Higa and Amy Furukawa; two brothers, Kazu and James Kunihiro; numerous nieces and nephews.
A celebration of life will be held on Jan. 22. Visiting with family will be held at 11 a.m. and service to follow at 12 p.m. at Lihu‘e Neighborhood Center.

Dorris Batt
Dorris H. Batt of Princeville, Kaua’i, passed away peacefully at her home on Jan. 10, 2012, at the age of 91. She was born in Beacon, New York, on Feb. 8, 1920. She was a history teacher, wife and mother. She was married to George Batt on Aug. 17, 1946. They moved from Beacon, New York, to Kaua’i in 1976. She always said her best years were here on Kaua’i.
She was preceded in death by son, David Batt; husband, George Batt and parents, Friedrick and Edith Heaney.
She is survived by daughters, Jane (John) Timmons of Dillon, Colo.; Wendy (Charlie) Elsasser of Princeville; grandchildren, Heather (Paul) Beckett of New Delhi, India; Rama Timmons of Dillon, Colo.; Jamie (Courtney) Timmons of Crested Butte, Colo., and Justin Knipple of Raleigh, N.C.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, Jan. 21, at Waioli Hu’uai Church, Hanalei. Visitation will be held at 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. and service at 2 p.m.

Crescencio “Cres” M. Ramos Jr. of Kapa‘a passed away on Jan. 9, 2012, at Wilcox Memorial Hospital at the age of 32. He was born on Nov. 15, 1979, at Wilcox Memorial Hospital.
He is survived by his parents, Crescencio “Cres” Ramos Sr.; Rebecca “Becky” Ramos; daughter, Alana Ramos; two brothers, Danvic Ramos and Glen Ramos; grandparents, Primitivo (Maria) Ramos and Alberto (Beatriz) Nidea; numerous nieces, nephews, aunties, uncles and cousins.

Jaime Salvador Pascua of ‘Ele‘ele, Kaua‘i, passed away on Jan. 7, 2012, at home at the age of 85. He was born on April 3, 1926, in Ewa, Hawai‘i. He was a retired field worker with McBryde Sugar Plantation.
He was preceded in death by parents, Narcisco and Concordia Pascua; brother, Luis Pascua; and sister, Catalina Pascual.
He is survived by his wife, Esmenia Pascua; sons, Rodney (Jan) Pascua of Kalaheo and Edwin (Mely) Pascua of Hanamaulu; daughters, Eveline (Rodger) Corpuz of ‘Ele‘ele and Delia (Allen) Tumbaga of ‘Ele‘ele; brother, Eloy Pascua of Kekaha; sister, Incarnation Ringor of the Philippines; grandchildren, Bryson Tumbaga, Cyrus Tumbaga, and Tiana Pascua, Jaimie Pascua and James Pascua; great-grandchildren, Jayvier Butay and Sylas Butay; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Wah Quan Lee of Lihu‘e passed away on Dec. 30, 2011, at Wilcox Memorial Hospital at the age of 97. He was born on June 1, 1914, on Kaua‘i and was a retired maintenance worker.
He is survived by his daughter, Mary Ellen (Tom) Abihai Gonsalves; threes sons, David Murayama; Ronald (Janice) Lee and Roland (Arnette) Lee; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.

John Humphries Cummings Sr. of Anahola died on Jan. 6, 2012, at Garden Isle Health Care at the age of 73. He was born on Jan. 2, 1939, in Hanama‘ulu, Kaua‘i, and retired as a tractor operator after 39 years with Lihu‘e Sugar Plantation.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Humphries Frank Cummings and Theresa Perreira Cummings Kido; stepfather, Kaigo Kido; brother, Gary Cummings; brother-in-law, Earl Apo; son-in-law, Vince “Kutie” Ethan; grandson, Byron Cummings and sister-in-law, Alice Cummings.
He is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Barbara Jean Keawe Cummings; five sons, John Cummings Jr., Alroy Cummings, George (Leimomi) Cummings, Billy (Tessy) Cummings, Dennis (Lynn) Cummings; two daughters, Holiday Efhan and Michele (Ken) Nakamura; brothers, Kenneth (Charlene) Cummings, Wilbert Cummings; sister, Agnes Apo; sister-in-law, Ruby Cummings; 25 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Nepumuceno “Sinog” “Nepu” Pascual Kabigting of Hanama‘ulu died on Jan. 4, 2012, at Wilcox Memorial Hospital at the age of 69. He was born in Laoag city, Ilocos Norte, the Philippines on May 15, 1942, and was employed by Garden Island Shrub & Turf Care as a landscaper.
He is survived by his wife, Martina Kabigting; daughter, Marie Vic Cabigting (Rustico Damaso); and two grandsons, Eric Rabot and Jordan Rabot, all of Hanama‘ulu.
A celebration of his life will be held on Jan. 21 at All Saints Episcopal Church in Kapa‘a with viewing from 9 a.m. and services celebrated at 10 a.m. Burial to follow at All Saints Church.
