Leonard was at the soccer game between Pearl City and Waimea, and his daughter Malu Vegas was hanging out with the Kaua‘i High School girls soccer team just down the way on the bleachers.
Hats off to Pearl City coach Ralph Shinn and his Chargers for having a good road trip. It’s amazing just how many Kaua‘i connections the Chargers have. We know soccer is here since Island School coach Sean Magoun is excited.
Hats off too to Swim Kaua‘i Aquatics coach Billy Brown on a great swim meet Saturday. He had some off-island swimmers participating along with his SKA people and the Chiefess Kamakahelei drum corps made the whole event sound like the Rose Bowl.
Now it’s time to go check out the Salvation Army Community Thanksgiving Luncheon … Larry Rivera is going to be there, and who is going to carry the turkey for Mayor Bernard Carvalho Jr. to carve?
Happy Thanksgiving, Kaua‘i!
