IRWINDALE, Calif. — Ready Pac Foods, Inc. on Friday announced its voluntary product recall because of a possible health risk.
Ready Pac of Irwindale, Calif., is recalling a total of 5,379 cases of bagged salad products containing Romaine lettuce with the use-by date of Nov. 18 because they may be contaminated with E. coli.
E.coli (O157:H7) is an organism that may cause diarrheal illness often with bloody stools.
The recalled salads were shipped to Safeway Stores in Hawai‘i and have been removed from retail shelves.
Consumers are advised to check their refrigerators for the product and return it to the store or throw it away.

To date, DOH has received no reports of illness related to the recalled product, a news release states.
