Slow drivers: Stay on the right lane!
Please don’t do it! Do not attempt to slow up the faster drivers by hogging the fast lane!
I too share your frustration with some of our drivers, as a tour driver I see more than my share of close calls caused by a number of factors: Carelessness, ignorance, frustration, plain old rudeness and a false sense of moral superiority.
But if you want a recipe for disaster, drive next to your fellow motorist and back up traffic for miles, leaving no escape route in the event of an emergency.
As a professional driver I have attended many safety classes in the last 30-plus years. It has been pointed out to me and my fellow drivers that to steer away from an accident is our first line of defense.
If there are on-coming vehicles, vehicles in front, vehicles to the side and vehicles behind you, what will you do when some one crosses the line, has a blow out, or just loses control for any number of reasons?
That’s a rhetorical question. It does not need an answer, because its obvious,
There will be a massive accident, orchestrated by the person who took it upon himself to enforce the law.
My suggestion would be to stay to the right lane leaving the left lane open.
The police should police, not us!
The open left lane makes it easier for them to monitor traffic and apprehend violators.
Thanks for your consideration,

Where is the Republican quarterback?
In watching the Perry nightmare at the last Republican debate it occurred to me that I just want from my presidential candidates what I would want from my quarterback.
I want him to be the smartest guy on the field. I want him to be cool under pressure. I want him to have an understanding of everything that is happening on the field. I want him to inspire his teammates.
I want him to be able to rise to the occasion when all seems lost and make that unbelievable call or play that pulls it out for the team he loves.
I want people to know without looking at his jersey that he is the quarterback just because of the way he walks with the assurance of command.
It is clear the Democrats have one of those.
The Republicans clearly don’t, and need to find one or there is no real quarterback dispute next November.
That would be a profound embarrassment for team America. I know there are Republicans out there that can throw the ball. But what we have seen so far are small, dim witted, ethically challenged men and women, who are good for a gag reel, a fumble, a choke, but not for the big time.
No one in his right mind would play any of these guys ahead of our starter.
Whatever the problems in our starters’ game, these folk don’t belong on the same field.
America deserves a real quarterback dispute. We don’t have one yet.

Nate bit a Tibetan
There are approximately 50-100 words in the English language that spell the same backwards as they do forward. These words are called palindromes.
“Mom sees Bob Kayak, wow!”
I just made a sentence out of five palindromes. Other palindromes worth noting are, civic, dad, deed, did, deified, bib, aha, ewe, Eve, dud, gag, gig, hah, heh, huh, level, madam, noon, nun, stats, sexes, and the list goes on.
Palindromes never got the attentions in grammar school that synonyms and opposites did. I wonder why?
Any word with the prefix of “Palin” you just know is going to be different.
Once you start searching for palindromes you may start to see Russia from your backyard. Just kidding, all my Republican friends.
How many palindromes can you think of?

DOT needs to do their job
The state Department of Transportation has an obligation to Kaua‘i’s citizens, who have no other choice but to use Lihu‘e Airport to go anywhere in a convenient and relatively affordable manner.
This obligation is to provide us with a safe and secure airport.
Days after the incident we still have no answers as to the cause or causes, but we have airport people — who shall remain unnamed — trying to suggest that it was TSA equipment.
Having had much experience in safety and security at Lihu‘e Airport I can tell everyone that TSA is doing what needs to be done.
Lihu‘e Airport needs to work in concert with TSA. However, now that the world knows of this incident and knows we have no answers why would any rational travelers want to expose themselves to possible danger by coming to Kaua‘i?
Come on Kaua‘i elected officials! Let’s make DOT do their jobs and give us what we deserve.
Get rid of the dead weight, and soon before our visitor counts fall, and we possibly all get sick or worse! Good move on DOT to remove the administration.
Perhaps you need to keep moving down the roster until things get better; or move up the roster to Honolulu until things are where they need to be on every island.
