LIHU‘E — The county Department of Water initiated repairs on a water tank serving Wainiha and Ha‘ena Sunday, but officials said the pump is still not working at full capacity.
While some water has been restored, water level in the tanks are still low, a county news release states. The public is asked to continue water conservation measures until repairs are fully completed.
DOW will continue to monitor and repair the system, and a notice will be issued when full service has been restored.
Water conservation measures include: refraining from car washing, reducing outdoor irrigation and using water wisely indoors and outdoors.
The DOW apologizes for the inconvenience and thanks the public for its cooperation, the release states.
