• Jose Batangan
Jose Dumayas Batangan of ‘Ele‘ele died Aug. 20, 2011, at Wilcox Memorial Hospital at age 62. Born May 3, 1949, in BRGY 5 San Nicolas, Ilocos Norte Philippines, he was a field technician for Syngenta.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Martin and Benita Batangan, and son, Marlon Batangan.
He is survived by his wife, Magdalena Batangan of ‘Ele‘ele; sons, Walter (Hazeline) Batangan of ‘Ele‘ele and Emerson (Karez) Batangan of ‘Ele‘ele; sisters, Apolonia (Stanley Oshima) Ramelb of ‘Ele‘ele and Potenciana (Monico) Paguirigan of the Philippines and 2 grandchildren; numerous aunties, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Friends may visit with the family on Friday, Sept. 30, at Borthwick Kaua‘i Mortuary Chapel in Koloa. Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. with service to follow at 7 p.m. Also on Saturday, Oct. 1, at Holy Cross Catholic Church in Kalaheo, visitation is at 9 a.m. and Mass to be celebrated at 10 a.m. Burial to follow at Hanapepe Public Cemetery.
Arrangements are being handled by Borthwick Kaua‘i Mortuary, Koloa.
