Much mahalo to Robin Jumper for all the help with The Kaua‘i Marathon. Kudos to all the organizers for another successful event.
Jordan Kahawai was the first Kaua‘i finisher and his ‘ohana was out in force, setting up a support station next to the Walmart aid station.
Dickie Chang said this was a media event since TGI had two people on the event, Ron Wiley was doing call-ins before taking his position calling out finishers, and Keahi Tucker came over to help with doing post-race interviews.
Tim Bynum was able to do both the marathon and get to the Special Olympics Kaua‘i Benefit Ride along with Mayor Bernard Carvalho Jr.
The mayor had a whirlwind schedule, Sunday, and by the day’s end, was able to relax as Regina took over the steering wheel.
Hats off to Sasha Figueira on a great opening day with the EBT sales at the Kaua‘i Community Market (Helen Cox now has an orange hibiscus).
