RE/MAX Kaua‘i merger with Yvonne Summerfield
RE/MAX Kaua‘i, Koloa and Po‘ipu offices, announced this week it has completed a merger with Yvonne Summerfield Premier Kaua‘i Real Estate, “creating one of the largest realty firms in the area,” the company said.
The combined company will remain as RE/MAX Kaua‘i in Summerfield’s existing Kalaheo office location at 2-2526 Kaumuali‘i Hwy.
“The merger represents a pooling of the expertise of two major south shore real estate companies in an effort to develop greater market share,” the announcement said.
“Joining forces was an effective way to unite two successful companies whose leaders share a similar vision, while simultaneously increasing our presence on the south shore,” said James Pycha, broker and owner of the newly expanded brokerage. Pycha founded RE/MAX Kaua‘i as one of the original Kaua‘i Real Estate franchises in 2000.
“My first responsibility is to help my buyers and sellers,” said Yvonne Summerfield in the announcement. “My return to RE/MAX will be a significant benefit to my clients, because RE/MAX has the number one name brand in real estate. With over 90,000 sales associates in more than 84 countries, when I list a property on Kaua‘i, it’s exposed to a huge audience.”
RE/MAX Kaua‘i said it expects to expand its current market share and will begin interviewing potential new agents for affiliation consideration at all three of its offices.
Summerfield will now work for RE/MAX Kaua‘i, a move she said would allow her to “focus on meeting the needs of the customers and clients without the additional responsibilities of managing the day-to-day operations of a real estate office. I enjoy selling property. The management side can sometimes get in the way of what I feel I do best.”
Summerfield said another advantage offered by her new company is the focus on continuing education, with real estate courses offered 24-7 and an online platform that allows associates to access hundreds of full-length training programs on demand.
“No other real estate organization has a higher percentage of associates with advanced, professional designations,” said Summerfield, who said she currently holds 10 designations, as well as Kauai’s only five-year Top 100 Realtor.
“Keeping on top of the changes in protocol and procedure is extremely important. As a Kaua‘i real estate broker, I need to know the latest information, knowledge and techniques so I can do the best for my clients.”
