Hats off to Eugene Ancheta who not only helped coach the Kaua‘i Junior Lifeguards to its eighth state title, Saturday. He was up early and paddled his stand up paddle board from Kalapaki Beach to Po‘ipu in the 2011 Paddle Fest, Sunday (Brian Burll didn’t know whether he was going to paddle, or not until the last minute)!
Sunday was Lilane Corpuz’s birthday, the president of the Lihu‘e Pop Warner Association celebrating the day before the Kaua‘i Pop Warner Football League got underway, Monday.
And if that wasn’t enough excitement, coach Max Manera had his birthday on the first day of conditioning, too.
More excitement…Otsuka’s is doing its Grand Re-Opening event, Friday and Lizann Vidinha of the Easter Seals said 10 percent of sales will be donated to Easter Seals. Check out all the excitement from 4 to 9 p.m. There’s time to take in the Sunset at Kalapaki benefiting the Friends of the Children’s Justice Center, too.
Finally, hats off to Melissa McFerrin and her huge Koloa Plantation Days ‘ohana on a great week of events. Next on Melissa’s plate is the Kaua‘i County Farm Bureau Fair coming up at the end of the month.
