Members of the Scheidel Foundation, based out of Florida, spend some time visiting with residents of Samuel Mahelona Memorial Hospital, Monday afternoon. A grant from the foundation helped the Rotary Club of Hanalei Bay enhance the hospital’s courtyard two years ago. Another recent grant to the Rotary Club helped pay for a silk printing press for the Kapa‘a High School art class as well as helping the Hanalei and Kilauea elementary schools. The Scheidel Foundation has helped the Rotary Club of Hanalei Bay with projects such as Growing Our Own Teachers and rescue tubes for beaches without lifeguards.
