Rowena Chong Tim
Rowena Mae K. Chong Tim of Anahola died July 19, 2011, at her home in Anahola at age 67. Born on Sept. 28, 1943, in Waimea, she was a sales counselor for Borthwick Kaua‘i Mortuary.
She is survived by her husband, Antone Chong Tim; sons, Patrick (Linda) Chong Tim of O‘ahu; Dana (Linda) Chong Tim of O‘ahu; Arthur (Gwen) Chong Tim of Nevada; Randy (Crystel) Chong Tim of Kaua‘i and Randy Chong Tim of Kaua‘i; daughters, Tony-Lee Chong Tim of Kaua‘i, Hope (Ben) Tabian of Kaua‘i and Zabryn Data of Kaua‘i; four brothers; five sisters; 20 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
Friends may visit with the family on Saturday, July 30, at the Kapa‘a Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Visitation begins at 9 a.m. and service will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Burial to follow on Aug. 6 at Hawaiian Memorial Park Cemetery in Kane‘ohe. Graveside service will be at 11 a.m.

Marcelo Rivel
Marcelo Rangcapan Rivel of Waimea died July 6, 2011, at his home at age 97. Born Jan. 27, 1914, in Ilocos Norte, Philippines, he was a nurse for 36 years with Kaua‘i Veterans Memorial Hospital.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Julia Acain Rivel, and son-in-law, Patrick Alvarez.
He is survived by his son, Mac Nolan (Kathy) Rivel of Hanapepe; daughters, Julie Ann Alvarez of Kekaha, June Lesley (Bobby) Kamakele of Kekaha, and Elena Marlene Hamm of Honolulu; eight grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
Friends mat visit with the family from 8 to 9:15 a.m. on Monday, July 25, at St. Theresa Catholic Church. Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. followed by a burial at Kekaha Public Cemetery.
Casual attire is suggested.

Marcial Constantino
Marcial Labrador Constantino of Puhi died on July 17, 2011, at home at age 73. Born in Bacarra, Ilocos Norte, Philippines on Aug. 21, 1937, he retired from Up To Date Cleaners as a launderer.
He was preceded in death by siblings, Brigido, Solidad, Gregoria, Mercedes, Silverio and Avelina.
He is survived by his wife, Ester Constantino of Puhi; children, Rizal (Desiree) Constantino of Puhi, Gina (Elizer) Magana of Puhi, Romeo (Alona) Constantino of Puhi, Nora (Celso) Barut of O‘ahu, Dolly (Lito) Del Rosario of Puhi, Dante (Norlita) Constantino of Puhi, Lanie (Caesar) Trinidad of Kapa‘a, Marites (Roni) Alcaraz of O‘ahu, Victor (Suerte) Constantino of Waimea, Daisy (Albert) Constantino of ‘Ele‘ele; sisters, Regina (William) Dela Cruz of ‘Ele‘ele, Hortencia (Pablo) Soliman of the Philippines; 29 grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
A wake service will be held on Friday, Aug. 12, with visitation from 6 to 9 p.m. at Kaua‘i Veterans Center in Lihu‘e. Viewing will be held on Saturday, Aug. 13, at Immaculate Conception Church at 8 a.m. and Mass to be celebrated at 10 a.m. Burial will follow at Kaua‘i Memorial Gardens.

Shane Abell
Shane Liberty Abell of Anahola died at Wilcox Memorial Hospital on July 14, 2011, at age 28. Born in Oregon on July 4, 1983, he was a mason with Spencer Masonry.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Makai Abell.
He is survived by his wife, Dana Abell; son, Kalalea Abell; daughter, Alena Abell; father, Jim (Jill) Abell; mother, Anita Vertefeuille; brothers, Jeff (Lauren) Abell and Saul Abell; sister, Serena Abell; in-laws, Dorina San Augustine and Russell Kam; nephew, Bryce Abell and nieces, Jenna and Zophia Abell.
A celebration of his life will be held on Saturday, July 30, at Anahola Beach Park beginning at 5:30 p.m. with a sunset paddle out.

Edward Rice
Edward Francis Rice of Lihu‘e died at his home on July 16, 2011. Born on Oct. 3, 1936, in Anaconda, Mont., he retired from C. Brewer as senior accountant and as business manager for Gay and Robinson.
He grew up in Montana and moved to Hawai‘i 49 years ago and loved living here. He was a devoted husband, affectionate father and loved playing with his grandkids. He enjoyed playing golf with his buddies and made a hole in one at Princeville and another at Kiahuna. He liked to play tour guide and give his friends and family tours of the Hawai‘i that he loved so much.
He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Ann Rice of Great Falls, Mont., and his brother, Jim Rice of Denver, Colo.
He is survived by his wife, Alyce Lorraine “Lori” Rice; sons, Steven (Susan) Rice of Hilo and Andrew (Barbara) Rice of Banks, Oregon; daughters, Sammee (Duane) Albano of Lihu‘e and Angela Rice of Hanapepe; grandchildren, Chelsea Rice, Jeremy (Rebekah) Albano, Briana (Jacob) Pierce, Christina “Nina” Albano, Corrinne, Jesse and Tristan Rice; great-granddaughter, Azariah Pierce; brothers, Kenny Rice, Ted Rice, Charlie Rice and Greg Rice; sisters, Marianne (Richard) Sanchez, Kay Rice, Zedda (Ernie) Gallegos, Sheila Rice, Sandy Rice and Susie Rice (Larry Strizich); numerous nieces and nephews.
A celebration of his life will be held at Kapa‘a Missionary Church on Saturday, July 30. Friends may visit with the family at 9:30 a.m. The service will be held at 10 a.m.

Judith Sato
Judith “Judy” Joan Sato of Wailua Houselots died July 18, 2011, at her home at age 73. Born in Wahiawa, O‘ahu on Jan. 31, 1938, she was a hostess at Sheraton Coconut Beach Hotel.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Joe and Genie Alaibilla.
She is survived by her husband, Stanley Sato of Wailua Houselots; daughters, Gigi Genegabuas of Colorado; Janine Kinimaka (Hanalei) of Hanama‘ulu; brother, Gerald (Pam) Alaibilla of Kapa‘a; grandson, Stanley Kinimaka of Wailua Houselots and great-granddaughter, Harper Kinimaka of Hanama‘ulu; numerous nieces and nephews.
Memorial services will be held on Friday, July 29, at St. Catherine Church in Kapa‘a. Visitation begins at 8:30 a.m. and Mass to be celebrated at 10 a.m. Burial to follow at St. Catherine Cemetery.
Family suggest flowers be omitted and casual attire is suggested.
