‘More Local Ventures’ moves to prime time
“More Local Ventures,” a Hawai‘i’s business show, moves to prime time on KFVE, Sundays every week at 6:30 p.m. beginning June 26.
The show profiles local businesses and entrepreneurs who are transforming Hawai‘i in extraordinary ways, a press release said.
“Like many local companies, we support and encourage green and sustainable efforts,” said Edgy Lee, the program’s executive producer. “Because we’re in media, to us this means supporting local businesses of all kinds so the concept of this series is really about featuring people who are preserving the beauty of our local lifestyle and folks who are pressing the envelope and finding innovative solutions in this changing economy.”
From high technology and biotech startups to third-generation mom-and-pop shops, restaurants, boutique organic farms, non-profit organizations and green companies, businesses that succeed in the current economy do so in a market that resembles no other, she said.
“Hawai‘i viewers love to see positive, hard-working local men and women trying to make their way in the world,” said Jon Fink, general manager for KFVE the Home Team.
“More Local Ventures” will also be simulcast on the web at pacificnetwork.tv, where viewers are invited to interact and comment using a variety of social media platforms.
Garden Island FCU celebrates Member Appreciation Friday
Garden Island Federal Credit Union will be offering cookies, juice and coffee to its members on July 1 as a special mahalo for their continuous support and membership.
Garden Island FCU began Member Appreciation Friday in 2008 and will now continue to celebrate it every month.
“It’s just something small to give back to the members,” said Keith Uyeno, GIFCU President. “If there is a line to the tellers, the wait is a little more enjoyable.”
As members enter the credit union, they will be greeted with local treats such as macadamia nut shortbread Kaua‘i Kookies, POG juice and coffee. Normal business will be conducted throughout the day.
Garden Island FCU is located at 2973 Kele St., Lihu‘e, diagonally behind the Lihue Post Office.
