Happy birthday to Placido Valenciano whose special day coincided with the special Samuel Mahelona Memorial Hospital wedding for six of its resident couples. Hats off to Josie Pablo for pulling all of it together and the event was so special

Hats off to Josie Pablo for pulling all of it together and the event was so special Steve Klein brought the residents of the Kaua‘i Veterans Memorial Hospital over to enjoy the festivities. Kudos too, to Sharla Hasegawa and Elaine Morita (no parade this year) for their help to Josie and Skipper Cacayon (where was the Kilauea Social Club?) did not have his Baby Martin for this gig.
Another birthday, Sherman Shadur, took place Sunday and the live musicians at the Kealia Kountry Sunday Market did a market-wide song for the 13-year-old who was mingling at Keon Durante’s tent. Mahalo to Tiki (Tacos) Morales and Bard Widmer for the ono fish taco, and mahalo to Joe Adorno for steering me at the Kamehameha Celebration.
Josh Rudinoff, celebrating Dad’s Day with a cookie, remembers the place from Island School days.
OK, time to go check with Marvin Terada (he’s trying to juggle the state Little League tournament and the Jr. PGA tournament) at the Kaua‘i Lagoons Golf Course.
