Tokioka shot a four-over par 76 to tie with Tyler Ichiki of Mililani in the Boys 15-19 division which was won by Richard Hattori of Honolulu who tied with three other golfers all shooting a two-over par 74 over the course which played to 6,355 yards.
Hattori’s first place was decided in a score card play-off, states a release from the Hawai‘i State Junior Golf Association.
Monique Ishikawa of Kailua, O‘ahu finished with a 70 over 5,769 yards to claim the Girls 15-19 division and Teisei Negishi of Hilo, Hawai‘i shot a 72 over 5,769 yards to claim the Boys 12-14 division.
The field consisted of 69 juniors from across the state playing in three age divisions as a qualifier for the 2011 Adams Golf Junior Tour Championships scheduled for July 28 and 29 at Forest Akers Golf Courses at Michigan State University.
Tokioka, advancing at the Manoa Cup was eliminated in the Round of 32, dropping 2 and 1 to Lorens Chan.
However, he moved his clubs from the O‘ahu Country Club, the site of the 103rd Manoa Cup, to the Turtle Beach Resort — Fazio Course.
Two other Kaua‘i golfers, Jonathan Ota and Layne Morita, were also eliminated in the Round of 32, Jonathan Ota dropping to Skye Inakoshi, 2 up and Morita dropping to Tyler Ota, 19 holes.
