Youth interested in honing their cheer skills are invited to the Heat Athletics Cheer Camp for young people ages 5 through 18 at the new Kaua‘i Police Activities League Youth Center in Kapa‘a on June 2.
Hosted by K-PAL, the one-day camp is free to participants and will focus on teaching stunting, tumbling, jumps, dance and cheer motion technique.
Youth ages 5 to 11 will have registration from 8:30 to 9 a.m. at the KPAL Youth Center, followed by camp from 9 a.m. to noon.
Registration for youth ages 12 to 18 will be held from 1:30 to 2 p.m., followed by the cheer camp from 2 to 5 p.m., also at the KPAL Youth Center.
Each participant will need to complete a registration form signed by a parent or legal guardian.
Heat Athletics is based out of Sussex, Wis. and specializes in All-Star cheerleading, tumbling and cheer classes. People may find out more about the program by visiting www.heatathletics.com.
The KPAL Youth Center is located at 4800 Kawaihau Road on the Samuel Mahelona Memorial Hospital property in Kapa‘a.
