Tacsiat was awarded second place in a global essay contest, in which more than 300,000 cadets from 2,000 high schools entered. The topic of the essay was “How JROTC differs from other high school courses.” Her essay symbolizes the first local cadet to be recognized in the JROTC’s annual competition.
