MANA — The commanding officer of the Pacific Missile Range Facility at Barking Sands announced this week that the next Welcome Aboard PMRF is scheduled for May 14.
All friends and supporters of PMRF are invited to attend the 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. event honoring the Centennial of Naval Aviation, featuring numerous military aircraft, aerial targets and boat static displays as well as food and information booths, a new release states.
Various aircraft are scheduled to be on display and the day’s events include classic cars and Harley-Davidsons; radio-controlled airplanes; U.S. Marine Corps para-jumpers; musical entertainment from the Navy’s Pacific Fleet Band and a live broadcast from Rooster Country 99.9 FM, and children’s attractions to include a bouncy house.
Admission is free. Visitors are advised to travel to the northern gate at mile marker 32 on Kaumuali‘i Highway for access to the event at the base air operations hangar and adjoining ramp.
Parking is available on base, although visitors are reminded that all vehicles will be subject to search. No coolers, oversized bags, outside food or beverages, nor pets allowed. Knives and other items that could be considered as weapons, as well as contraband, are prohibited.
