LIHU‘E — The Hawai‘i Paroling Authority has determined that convicted murderer Joseph Hoapili should serve at least 30 years of his life sentence for the slaying of his wife, Fredlynn Hoapili, states a release from County Prosecuting Attorney Shaylene Iseri-Carvalho.
LIHU‘E — The Hawai‘i Paroling Authority has determined that convicted murderer Joseph Hoapili should serve at least 30 years of his life sentence for the slaying of his wife, Fredlynn Hoapili, states a release from County Prosecuting Attorney Shaylene Iseri-Carvalho.
During the early morning hours of March 3, 2009, Joseph Hoapili brutally and repeatedly stabbed his wife of 35 years as she lay asleep, states the release. Hoapili was convicted of Second Degree Murder and sentenced to life with the possibility of parole by Judge Randal Valenciano on March 25, 2010.
The Paroling Authority has now issued an order setting Hoapili’s minimum term to expire on Feb. 23, 2039. He would be 82 years of age before becoming eligible for release.
