LIHU‘E — In response to the devastating earthquake and resulting tsunami in Japan, Oceanic Time Warner Cable has announced that it will provide free phone calls to Japan for Digital Phone customers, states a press release from Oceanic. It will also broadcast round-the-clock coverage of the events’ aftermath and recovery from Japan.
Oceanic’s residential Digital Phone customers will be able to call Japan free of charge through April 15, 2011.
The program is retroactive for all calls placed on March 11
Digital Phone customers who are making calls to Japan during the eligible period do not need to make any changes to their accounts in order to take advantage of this program.
The program will cover any direct call to Japan. Calls to operators or directory assistance will continue to be charged at the usual rate.
