Registration for various youth activities is currently being accepted by the Kaua‘i Police Activities League at its new KPAL Youth Center in Kapa‘a.
Jiu Jitsu classes are being held every Tuesday for youths ages 7 through 11 from 6 to 7 p.m., and for ages 12 to 17 from 7 to 8 p.m.
Wednesdays and Fridays, the floor at the recently dedicated youth center will host Hip Hop dance classes from 3 to 4 p.m.
Wrestling is also hosted on Wednesdays and Fridays from 4 to 6 p.m.
All-star cheerleading takes the floor on Mondays and Thursdays from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m.
Registration for all-star cheerleading for youths 5 to 17 is being accepted on Monday from 5 to 7 p.m. at the KPAL Youth Center.
On Tuesday, KPAL will accept registration for ages 7 to 17 for its Jiu Jitsu classes from 5 to 7 p.m.
Hip Hop dance class registration will take place Wednesday from 5 to 7 p.m. and is open to youth 5 to 17 years old.
Wrestling registration will also be accepted at this time.
Registration cost is $20 for each activity for the year, or a special $50 annual KPAL membership which allows a member to join as many activities as he or she would like throughout the year.
Scholarships are being offered to those who demonstrate financial need.
The KPAL Youth Center is located at 4800 Kawaihau Road on the Mahelona Medical Center property in Kapa‘a.
To get to the center, turn into the Samuel Mahelona Memorial Hospital entrance and drive past the emergency room toward the elderly housing project. The KPAL Youth Center is on the right side of that project.
