Canuto Tangonan
Canuto Yagin Tangonan, of Kilauea died at his home on Jan. 12, 2011, at the age of 85. He was born on Jan. 19, 1925 in the Philippines. He was a retired dishwasher.
He is survived by his wife Rita Tangonan, and long time companion Margarita Dawa.
He is also survived by 2 sons, Abraham (Elvira) Tangonan, Remigio (Remy) (Amanda) Tangonan; daughters Grace Bancud, Genoveva (Diosdado) Yades, and Myrna (Felix) Rodrigues; step-children Marissa (Brent) Batterman, Maxima (Michael) Schmidt, Romeo Dawa, and Marilyn (Larry) Loos; plus 27 grandchildren, and 12 great-grandchildren.
Friends may visit with the family on Saturday Jan. 29, 2011, at St. Sylvester Chuch in Kilauea from 8:30-9:45 a.m. Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m., with burial to follow at St. Catherine Cemetery.
Borthwick Kaua‘i mortuary assisted the family with arrangements.
Nicole Thomas
Nicole Charmaine Thomas of Kapa‘a died Jan. 19, 2011, on O‘ahu, at age 42. Born in Lihu‘e, Kaua‘i, Sept. 11, 1968, she was a teacher and caregiver; loved sharing her mana‘o with others; was always creating something beautiful with her hands; was an amazing mother, daughter, sister, aunty and friend; shared so many memories with so many people; and her legacy will live on.
She was preceded in death by her son Tanner; grandparents Alex and Frances Thomas, Leon Castillo, and Doris Uyeda.
She is survived by fiancé Shawn Sanchez; daughters Tierny and Teagan Waialeale; mother Connie (Steve) Melanson; father Stephen (Sheilah) Thomas; brother Brandon Thomas (Leo Hasegawa); sister Dawn (Kenneth) Cummings; nieces Tara, Tori, Kawana, Jennee, Tyli, Kyary, Kaliyah, Brooklyn; nephews Keona, Kahinu, Kamuela, Tristin; numerous aunties, uncles, cousins, and extended family, Ojiichan Hideo and Obachan Michie Sasaki.
A celebration of life will be on Saturday, Jan. 29, at Lydgate South Beach Park (first turn off, behind soccer field park). Visitation at 9 a.m. and services beginning at 10 a.m. Fellowship with the family and friends to follow the services.
Family requests no floral arrangements, leis welcome.
Corbin Reynolds
Corbin Jon Kaimana Reynolds of Kekaha died Jan. 23, 2011, at Kaua‘i Veterans Memorial Hospital at age 17. Born Sept. 18, 1993, in Lihu‘e, Kaua‘i, he was a student at Waimea High School.
He was preceded in death by maternal great-grandparents Remegio Salazar and Rose Bumanglag; maternal great-grandparents Julio Taboniar and Mary M. Rodrigues; paternal great-grandparents John and Elsie Hoopii Sr.; paternal great-grandparents Jack Reynolds and Bernice Takenaka.
He is survived by his parents Daynes and Jonnie Anne Reynolds of Kekaha; brother Tyler Reynolds of Kekaha; sister Jadelyn Reynolds of Kekaha; maternal grandparents John and Violet Taboniar of Hilo and Kekaha; paternal grandfather Russell ( Wendy) Reynolds, Jr. of Kalaheo; paternal grandmother Healani (Gordon) Sanchez of Kealia; numerous uncles, aunts and cousins.
Friends may visit with the family at 1 p.m., Sunday, Jan. 30, at the Garden Island Mortuary chapel; service at 2:30 p.m. followed by burial at the Kekaha cemetery. Family request casual attire.

Chadwick Huihui
Chadwick Keola Huihui died on Jan. 26, 2011, at his home in Kekaha at the age of 63. Born on March 27, 1947 in Honolulu, he was a retired custodian.
Private services were held.
Borthwick Kaua‘i Mortuary handled the arrangements.
Peter Kealoha Sr.
Peter “Uncle Pete” Kealoha Sr. of Kalaheo, Kaua‘i passed away on Jan. 26, 2011 at Wilcox Memorial Hospital at the age of 72. Born on May 31, 1938 in Hanama‘ulu, Kaua‘i, he was a tour guide with Polynesian Adventure Tours.
He was preceded in death by father David Kealoha; mother, Hannah Racoma.
He is survived by wife Yvonne Kealoha; children Peter (Momi) Kealoha Jr., Sharon Sanico, Rene Mau, Hannah Kealoha, Sarah Kealoha, Sam Kealoha, Jesse (Odelia) Kealoha, Sweetie (Gaylord) Kahale, John (Nohea) Kealoha, Yvette (Lyle) Naka’ahiki, John (Charla) Brock, and Elena (Leina’ala) Kealoha; sisters Hanna Noblisse, Mary (Joe) Blakstad, Marta (Donald) Moniz, and Hirene Chase; brothers David Kealoha Jr., and William Racoma; and 30 grandchildren and 36 great-grandchildren.
Services to be held on Feb. 12, 2011, at Borthwick Kaua‘i Mortuary Chapel, Koloa. Visitation at 9 a.m. with service at 10 a.m. Burial to follow at Kaua‘i Veterans Cemetery, Hanapepe.

Kinue Mizuna
Kinue Mizuno of Hilo died at Life Care Center of Hilo on Jan. 24, 2011. Born on Jan. 15, 1919 in Pakala, Kaua‘i, she was a member of Waimea Hongwanji, Honpa Hongwanji Hilo Betsuin, Buddhist Women’s Association, Club 100 and retired as a Janitor from Waimea Dispensary.
She is survived by son Barry (Carolyn) Mizuno of Hilo; daughter Dale (Tom) Nakano of Honolulu; daughter in law Rosi Mizuno of California; sisters Midori Yanagawa of Hilo, Tsuneyo (Toshio) Ikeda of Kaumakani, Kaua‘i; 7 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews.
Friends may call from 10-11 a.m. Wednesday (Feb. 2, 2011) at West Kaua‘i Hongwanji Mission, Waimea. Memorial service at 11 a.m. Casual attire.
