Kiyoko Kubota
Kiyoko Kubota of Kapa‘a died at Wilcox Memorial Hospital on Dec. 21, 2010, at age 88. Born in Koloa on July 24, 1922, she was the sole proprietor of Pono Market.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Minoru Kubota; sisters, Tomi Higa, Lorna Oshima; and brother, Robert Uyechi.
She is survived by seven children, Eunice (Athmore) Olivas of Kalaheo, Jerry (Caleen) Kubota of Kapa‘a, Allan (Nelly) Kubota of Utah, Kenneth (Cheryl) Kubota of Kapa‘a, Bobbie (Lynn) Kubota of Kapa‘a, Bernice (Roy) Hashimoto of ‘Ele‘ele, Joyce (Glen) Kaneshiro of O‘ahu; brothers, Stanley (Clara) Uyechi of O‘ahu, Sadao (Kazue) Uechi of O‘ahu, Marvin Yamauchi of Kapa‘a, Paul (Rachel) Yamauchi of Kalaheo; sisters-in-law, Ruth Uyechi, Gladys Matsuda, and Kimi Michelman, all of O‘ahu; brother-in-law, Tom Oshima of California; hanai daughter, Joanne Davila; hanai son, Mike Teruya; 22 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
A celebration of her life will be held on Saturday, Jan. 8, at Kapa‘a Missionary Church with visitation at 9 a.m. and services celebrated at 10:30 a.m.
Family suggests casual attire.

Elaine Morita
Elaine Mitsuyo Morita of Kapa‘a died Dec. 16, 2010, at age 93. Born in Anahola on Feb. 13, 1917, she retired from the State of Hawai‘i and was a proprietor of K. Morita Service Station.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Kazumasa Morita; parents, Sotaro and Inayo Tanabe; brother, George Tanabe; and sister, Lillian Tanabe.
She is survived by her sons, Marvin (Lynn) Morita, Roy (Elaine) Morita; daughter, Beverly Morita; brothers, Hideo (Joan) Tanabe, Lloyd (Claire) Tanabe; sisters, Grace (Kiyoshi) Furugen, Akiko Oshima; grandchildren, Lei, Denise, Cheryl and Ken.
Services will held on Saturday, Jan. 8, at Kapa‘a Hongwanji Mission with visitation at 2:30 p.m. and service at 3:30 p.m.
Kaua‘i Memorial Gardens and Funeral Home assisted the Morita family with arrangements.
Dorothy Woodward
Dorothy “Dolly” Woodward of Kapa‘a died at her home on Dec. 19, 2010. Born in Honolulu on Oct. 1, 1954, she was a homemaker.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Isaac and Mary Kaohe; sisters, Shyleene Key, Irene Kalekini; and brother, Theodore Kaohe.
She is survived by husband Dayne Woodward Sr. of Kapa‘a; sons Dayne “Hawai‘ian Teddy Bear” (Nancy) Woodward Jr. of Princeville, Dustin Woodward of Kapa‘a; granddaughters Dusty and Zaiani of Kapa‘a; sisters Joyce (John) Sevaaetasi, Betty Jean (Dave) Baldwin, Margaret (Samuel) Woodward; brothers Isaac “Boy” (Irma) Kaohe, Fredrick Kaohe; brothers-in-law Hayden (Jacqueline) Woodward, Darriel (Iris) Woodward, Llewllyn (Nadine) Woodward; sister-in-law Celeste (Ted) Castillo; numerous nieces and nephews.
Friends may visit with family on Friday, Jan. 7, at Borthwick Mortuary. Visitation will be at 8:30 a.m. and services at 10 a.m. Burial to follow at Lihu‘e Public Cemetery.
Clemma Burnz
Clemma Burnz of Omao died Dec. 7, 2010, at Wilcox Memorial Hospital. Born on March 27, 1918, in Topeka, Kansas, she was a homemaker.
She is survived by husband Richard H. Burnz; sons Robert J. (Linda), David (Shirlette); daughter Jeanette Cantotay; grandchildren Robert-John (Melissa), Mary-Elizabeth (Richard) Natividad, Isaiah Cantotay of O‘ahu, Kaiwa Burnz of Arizona, Carla (Kimo) Matsushima, Kaina, Kaiea, and Kawai of Kaua‘i; six great-grandchildren; hanai daughter Kathe Leong; hanai grandsons Corbin and Quintin; and two hanai great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, Jan. 8, at St. John Episcopal Church in ‘Ele‘ele. Visitation is at 10 a.m. with service at 10:30 a.m. and inurnment to follow at church.
Family requests casual or aloha attire and request leis only.

Anna Keamoai
Anna Keamoai of Makaweli died Dec. 31, 2010, at Kaua‘i Veterans Memorial Hospital at age 73. She was born Aug. 2, 1937, in Makaweli.
She is survived by her husband, Levi Keamoai; sons, Herbert of Makaweli and Kelvin (Smitty) of Kaumakani; daughters, Lois of Waimea and Lisa (Travis) DeSilva of Kapa‘a; granddaughter, Carlie Ann DeSilva; sisters, Rebecca Niheu of Makaweli and Julia Nakaya of Waimea; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Friends may visit with the family from 3 to 4 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 6, at the Garden Island Mortuary chapel; service at 4 p.m. Casual attire suggested.

Betty Ann Lewis
Betty Ann Lewis of Lihu‘e died Dec. 27, 2010. Born Jan. 10, 1940, in Henry County, Missouri, she moved to Kaua‘i in 1991 and partnered with her son and was a successful CFO and co-owner of Speedie Lube Hawai‘i and Suzuki Kaua‘i.
She was a classy smart woman who loved the finer things in life, such as traveling, good food, elegant clothes, scrapbooking, card-making and luxuries of hard work. She knew how to get dirty.
She is survived by son Steven C. Lewis; daughter Cindy A. Lewis; brother Kent (Marilyn) Stratton; nephews Randy and Dennis; niece Deann; along with many employees/adopted children who knew and loved her as “Ma Lewis.”
A celebration of life will be held at 10:30 a.m., Jan. 9, at Lydgate State Park (Kamalani Bridge side, look for indications). All is welcome to join family and friends to celebrate a life that has touched many and will never be forgotten.
Flowers are welcomed and the family suggests casual attire.

Lillian Lumacad
Lillian Akiko Lumacad of Koloa died Dec. 26, 2010, at her home at age 86. Born Sept. 21, 1924, in Hawai‘i, she retired as a Teachers Aid with K.E.O.
She is survived by son Claude (Karen) Lumacad; daughter Donna (Robert) Yamamoto; eight grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.
Friends may visit with the family on Wednesday, Jan. 12, at Borthwick Kaua‘i Mortuary Chapel in Koloa from 9 to 9:45 a.m. with memorial services celebrated at 10 a.m. Inurnment to follow at Kaua‘i Veterans Cemetery in Hanapepe.

Felipe Bautista Jr.
Felipe C. Bautista Jr. of Kapa‘a died Dec. 28, 2010, at age 56. He was born in Lihu‘e on Jan. 3, 1954.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Felipe C. and Elizabeth Bautista.
He is survived by wife Margie Ann Bautista (Reis); son Bronson Bautista (Danielle Moises) of Kapa‘a; daughters Sharma Bautista (Alton Muraoka) of ‘Ele‘ele and Denise Bautista (Allen Calumag) of Kapa‘a; grandchildren, Tyler Bautista, Treston Bautista, Dellen Calumag and Mikayla Muraoka; sister Silvia Cole of Anahola.
Friends may visit with the family from 9 to 11 a.m. on Saturday, Jan. 8, at St. Catherine’s Catholic Church; mass at 11 a.m. followed by burial at the church cemetery.

Al Haynes
Al Haynes died Dec. 28, 2010, in Kapa‘a at his home at age 64. Born Dec. 1, 1946, in San Francisco, Calif., he was a watershed manager for San Lorenzo County, Calif.
He was preceded in death by mother Jean Gilbert.
He is survived by wife Su Haynes; sons Aaron (Sally) Haynes, Bret Haynes; father Alfred William Haynes Sr.; brothers Anthony, Edward; sisters Patricia, Beatrice; and three grandchildren.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, Jan. 8, at his residence in Kapa‘a. Service will start at 4 p.m.
