LIHU‘E — The All Kaua‘i Marching Band is looking for anyone who has participated in a school marching band and would like to re-live the experience. The band’s first practice is 2 p.m. Sunday at Kalaheo School gym.
The marching band’s first gig will be the Lights on Rice parade in December. The focus of the band is fun, so volunteers interested in learning an easy instrument and marching with band are welcome, a press release states. The band is holding four rehearsals, to teach volunteers easy holiday songs.
Band registration is $20, and volunteers receive a T-shirt. Live Music Kaua‘i is a nonprofit organization. Its mission is to bring musical and learning opportunities to Kaua‘i’s youth, increase public awareness of the importance of music for all ages, and to encourage more live music opportunities on Kaua‘i.
