Hats off to Nelson Batalion and the Associated Students of the University of Hawai‘i-Kaua‘i Community College students who put together the candidates’ meet-and-greet event this week! John Constantino was busy keeping track of the time, and JoAnn Yukimura spent part of her time browsing through the club day offerings at the Student Center.
Welcome home to Daniel Hamada, who is now the principal at Kapa‘a High School. Mr. Daniel was at the football game wishing coach Keli‘i Morgado luck in the game, and then, was at the S2M2 (Science, Service, Medicine and Mentoring program) community health fair to check out the students’ work. Kudos to Dr. Glenda Nogami and Bill Arakaki on coordinating that great event for the students.
Congratulations to Kaua‘i Marine Corps League Commandant Norberto Garcia and the rest of the league on getting the Meritorious Unit Award! The league deserves that award for all the work they do in the community, and the set up for Norberto presenting the award to the unit was pretty spiffy, too.
OK, lots to do…Lihu‘e Christian Church Bazaar, Matsuri Kaua‘i, Kaua‘i Interscholastic Federation football. Anything else?
