The Kaua‘i Interscholastic Federation released the following statement as a reminder to spectators for KIF afternoon football:
“With the change from evening to day football games, the Kaua‘i Interscholastic Federation advises our supporters to come prepared. Staying hydrated is important, both on the field and in the stands.
An individual umbrella and a mat or pad to sit on are suggested.
Quick tents will not be allowed, as they block the view of spectators seated in the stands behind the tent.
As a reminder, outside food is not allowed.
We thank you for your understanding as we implement this change in game time.”
The first afternoon game of the season will take place Saturday at Vidinha Stadium as the Waimea Menehune take on the Kaua‘i Red Raiders.
Junior varsity will kick off at 1 p.m., follwed by varsity, which is scheduled for 3:30 p.m.
Waimea (1-2, 0-1) is coming off a 7-0 loss to Kapa‘a (3-1, 1-1) on Friday night.
Kaua‘i (3-0, 1-0) had the week off after a 13-7 win over Kapa‘a on Sept. 4.
