Kaua‘i Water Polo will host the first-ever Hanalei water polo game starting at 8 a.m. to 11 a.m., Saturday at the Hanalei Pier.
Billy Brown of KWP said they have a permit to play at the end of the pier where a polo course will be set up parallel to the shore.
“It really will be awesome,” Brown said in an e-mail. “It will most likely be the best day of your life.”
Brown said the Hanalei water polo game is for everyone, players and spectators alike. He said everyone in the gold, junior and senior groups from the Swim Kaua‘i Aquatics program has been invited to play.
Game format will be similar to the recent successful SummerSplash event where a kids game will alternate with an adult game.
“I cannot think of a better place to have such an amazing day,” Brown said. “This will be a great and unique experience for everyone, and a great way to promote water polo.”
Brown is asking for people who want to lend a stand-up board or two for the referees.
Teams will be formed on game day with plans to hang out at the beach following the game.
